Dean & Roach Creek Mining Pictures

A collection of photographs, some taken by me but mostly given to me, of people and places in and around the coal mining business at the Dean and Roach Creek mining camps that was a boom in activity for many years until its final closing sometime around 1959.

A large number of miners worked at these coal mines and lived with their families in the camps where almost everything was provided by the coal company; houses, school, church, and even a store for their grocery needs. We have a lot to be thankful for because of their hard work and meager living conditions that existed for the miner and his family.

If you can identify any of these pictures, please, leave a comment below the picture and I will get it, or you can send me an email at ERayAustin@outlook.com
